HUGH CARROLL
Hugh Carroll was born and raised in Kentucky,
but located in Indiana where he lived till
1841, when with his family he came to Missouri
and located in Bacon Chapel Neighborhood.
He lived there for over twenty years.

He left several children and grand children, some of whom are yet living in the
old neighborhood.
ANDREW CARROLL

the state of Indiana and came to Missouri with his father
in 1841. Andrew Carroll is one of the
old citizens who remember well when but a few houses could be seen in this
section of the county, the few then being in the timber. Not one could be seen on the prairie, not a
railroad in the county, and but one town, Shelbyville, the county seat. He has watched with interest the development
of this country for the last sixty-one years.
Mr. Carroll moved to south Missouri
and lived for a few years, but he came back to the old neighborhood. Mr. Carroll has been married twice and has
two families of children, all of whom are grown. He is a Methodist and Democrat and has been a
farmer all of his life. He has recently
sold his farm and now lives in Clarence.

majority. Being of a mechanical turn of
mind, he learned the carpenter trade, which he has followed for several years,
doing some farm work at intervals. He
moved to Clarence some few weeks ago and opened a general repair shop in
