Babler; I'm researching my
early Missouri family Babler who eventually settled in northern Saline Co
in the 1860's or so. My great uncle Mathias Henry Babler (born 1866 in New
Frankfort, Mo.) became a part owner of a grocery store ("Byland & Babler")
on (apparently) the main street in Clarence, Mo sometime between the 1890's
and 1910 or so. This general store apparently was in operation for about
11 years and was located just two doors away from the Clarence House (Hotel?)
and just next door to the F.A. Jackson Hardware store. Can anyone confirm
this or add to this?
